Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Performance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive real-world experience with SQL Server, particularly in optimizing database performance and ensuring high availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze the entire database schema to identify and improve slow-running queries.
Evaluate and enhance performance using new SQL Server technologies, such as table partitioning.
Develop and implement high availability group backup strategies for data retention, including cloud backups, restores, and automated processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, including deadlocks and long-running stored procedures.
Collaborate with the team to optimize query performance on our trading systems.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience with SQL Server, including recent versions.
Proven expertise in high availability group backup strategies and cloud data management.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server performance optimization techniques.
Experience with automating backup and restore processes.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, including deadlocks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with table partitioning and other advanced SQL Server features.
Experience in a trading or financial services environment.
