Job Title: Technical Data Analyst
Location: Wilmington, DE 19801 (Hybrid – local candidates only)
Duration: 12+ Months with the possibility of extension

Mandatory: Prior experience with Capital One or the Discover Financial Domain.

Hiring Manager Comment: We are looking for a Technical Data Analyst / BA who is hands-on with ETL execution, Python-based validation, SQL, and QuickSight dashboards, rather than a pure Data Engineer or traditional BA

Job Overview:
– As a Technical Data Analyst within the Risk & Controls organization, you will sit at the intersection of data engineering, control execution, and data quality assurance. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data that powers enterprise risk frameworks.
– You will design, build, and monitor ETL pipelines, while also developing automated, script-based data validation and QA frameworks using Python. Your work will directly support first-line controls, ensuring trusted data for reporting, compliance, and decision-making.

Required:
– Hands-on experience designing and operating ETL pipelines in a production environment.
– Expert proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong focus on data manipulation and automated testing.
– Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra).

General Responsibilities:
– Pipeline Optimization: Identify inefficiencies and automate manual data processes using Python and SQL.
– Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Risk teams to translate control requirements into technical ETL solutions.
– Analytical Problem Solving: Investigate data gaps and anomalies using Python-based analysis and statistical techniques.
– Clear Communication: Translate technical data risks and findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
