Job Title: SDET Engineer
Location: Seattle, Washington (Must be local)
Onsite: 2-3 days per week
Job Description:
Lululemon is seeking a talented SDET Engineer to join their Global Trade, Inbound Logistics, and Outbound Logistics Technology teams. The ideal candidate will bring QA engineering best practices in building and deploying microservices versions of our homegrown platform, which serves as a parcel execution engine. You will also be responsible for vendor-managed software in a SaaS platform for Inbound Logistics and Trade systems, such as Infor Nexus and E2Open. These platforms integrate with Warehouse Management Systems, Omni, and other upstream supply chain systems to retrieve shipping labels and tracking numbers from carrier partners like FedEx, USPS, and Canada Post. Your contributions will ensure smooth integration and visibility of incoming and outgoing cartons, supporting SFS functionality in North America and global regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Framework Development: Lead a team of SDET engineers to design and develop an automation framework from scratch based on foundational principles, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Leadership: Act as a liaison between functional QA leads and backend Java engineers to ensure the development of high-quality test automation.
Test Strategy & Execution: Produce, evaluate, and develop code for automated testing programs to ensure a robust and scalable platform.
CI/CD Integration: Ensure the seamless integration of automated tests into continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to run tests as part of all build and deployment phases.
Performance Testing: Evaluate the platform’s speed, scalability, and stability, using tools to simulate peak loads and identify performance bottlenecks.
Collaboration with Engineers & Product Teams: Work closely with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to ensure quality is built into software development using test-driven development.
Post-Mortem Participation: Attend post-mortems to address any issues from deployments and ensure root causes are addressed effectively.
Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, using automation and innovation to enhance the platform’s performance and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on QA automation.
10+ years of experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs using Java, JSON, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Domain, with an emphasis on warehouse management and digital logistics.
Deep experience with relational databases (SQL query language and stored procedures).
Senior-level knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
Experience with infrastructure as code and multi-cloud strategies.
Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
Strong business acumen with effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to champion change, challenge the status quo, and influence others to innovate.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for continuous innovation.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Must-Haves:
Previous experience in the retail industry, especially with parcel shipping solutions and integrations.
A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, capable of managing and mentoring other SDETs within a shared SDET pod.
Ability to work under the engineering leadership of the Staff Engineer for Global Logistics and Trade Technology.
Strong ITIL knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management).
A strong sense of personal responsibility, with a proactive attitude and a focus on team success.
