Job Description:
Minimum 10+ years of experience.
Designing, building, and configuring applications using Automation Anywhere to meet business process needs
Conducting code reviews and providing platform and user support for Automation Anywhere
Lead the development of applications solutions on complex or normal projects that meet agreed business requirements and are supportable in the live environment.
This could be through in-house development or through a third-party supplier.
On appropriate projects it will involve leading a team of Software Engineers, Developers and/or third-party resources. Assessment of business ideas
Assist in the assessment of business ideas, project scoping, the feasibility analysis of systems-based solutions and very rough order of magnitude estimates for alternative solution options Requirements definition
Assist with the investigation and cataloguing of functional and non-functional requirements and the production of requirements specifications Solution design
Provide technical input to the outline solution in project mandates Development
Take technical responsibility for all aspects of applications development by other resources, partners and third parties
Produce and assign work packages to other resources, partners and third parties.
Produce technical specifications (only where available software engineers, developers and third-party resources lack the detailed systems knowledge necessary to produce them) and supervise the coding and unit testing of those specifications
Undertake coding and unit testing only where this is the quickest option to resolve a business-critical incident
Monitor progress against the build phase plan and initiate corrective actions when progress falls behind the plan
Escalate issues to the Project Manager in a timely manner, presenting options and recommendations for the resolution of the issues Process and quality
Act as the Technical Design Authority within a project to ensure consistency between the high-level design, detailed design, build components and testing, so resulting in a new or amended system that meets the agreed business requirements and is fit for purpose
Establish the quality standards for the portfolio and ensure that quality reviews are completed for all products (including technical program specifications, unit test plans, code and unit test results) and that quality and defect logs are maintained
Ensure adherence to Service Introduction and change request processes Testing
Produce plans for and lead other resources, partners and third parties in the preparation and execution of the system, integration, performance and acceptance testing of new and amended systems (including test plans, cases, scripts, environments and data) Implementation
Ensure that configuration management processes are followed, and all code is archived
Produce plans for and lead other resources, partners and third parties in the implementation of system changes and the decommissioning of redundant systems
Provide authorisation for normal release activity and act as a point of escalation
Perform and lead others in support activities during the warranty period, including out-of-hours standby cover
In portfolios where it is required of this role, assist with pilot/roll-out of releases and attend stores where required
