Platform Engineer / Solution Architect – Data Catalog (Atlan/Alation)
Location: Hybrid – Midtown NYC (3 days onsite)

SUMMARYSeeking a senior Platform Engineer / Solution Architect with deep expertise in data catalog implementation (Atlan or Alation) to lead the full lifecycle—from architecture, integration, and automated metadata ingestion to business adoption, governance, SSO/RBAC security, and CI/CD automation.
This role blends engineering, architecture, governance, and stakeholder leadership across a modern cloud-based data ecosystem.
MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE10+ years in Data/Platform Engineering or Solution Architecture
3+ years implementing Atlan or Alation data catalog platforms
Banking/Financial Services domain experience
Experience leading end-to-end catalog implementation including:
Metadata ingestion automation
Lineage setup across SQL, pipelines, and BI
Business glossary & governance workflows
RBAC, SSO (SAML/OIDC), security controls
Strong integration skills with:
Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server
ADF, SSIS
Power BI / Tableau
Proficiency in Python, SQL, APIs, SDKs
DevOps/IaC: Terraform, GitHub/GitLab/Azure DevOps CI/CD
Change management across DEV/QA/UAT/PROD environments
RESPONSIBILITIESArchitect and deploy a production-grade metadata/catalog platform (Atlan/Alation)
Implement automated metadata ingestion, lineage capture, business glossary, and stewardship models
Integrate catalog with warehouses, lakes, pipelines, BI tools, and ML platforms
Operationalize governance workflows, RBAC, approvals, and policy automation
Build CI/CD pipelines for connectors, policies, and configuration-as-code
Manage catalog observability, adoption metrics, and platform reliability
Lead enterprise-wide onboarding, stakeholder training, and change management
Work across engineering, analytics, and business teams to drive adoption
