Azure Platform Engineer [Ops]

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Cloud / Platform Engineer with 8–10 years of cloud engineering experience, including at least 5 years managing large-scale Microsoft Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, Azure platform operations, automation, CI/CD, cloud governance, monitoring, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Design, build, and maintain scalable and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM Templates, and/or Bicep.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, scaling, and lifecycle management.
Platform Reliability & Operations
Drive automation-first cloud operations to reduce manual effort across provisioning, patching, scaling, and disaster recovery.
Ensure reliability, availability, performance, and resilience of enterprise Azure environments.
Establish and improve operational processes, standards, and automation frameworks.
Monitoring & Incident Response
Lead L3/L4 troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex Azure infrastructure and platform issues.
Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Grafana for monitoring, alerting, performance analysis, and observability.
Participate in major incident management and develop preventive solutions for recurring issues.
Security & Cloud Governance
Implement and maintain Azure governance and security controls.
Manage Azure Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and access management.
Ensure Azure environments follow organizational security, compliance, and governance standards.
FinOps & Cost Optimization
Monitor and analyze Azure cloud consumption and spending.
Identify opportunities for resource right-sizing, utilization optimization, and cost reduction.
Establish and strengthen financial governance and cost-management practices across Azure environments.
CI/CD & DevOps
Build, manage, and continuously improve automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
Integrate Infrastructure as Code and automated testing/deployment into CI/CD workflows.
Improve deployment reliability, repeatability, and release automation.
Networking & Connectivity
Design and troubleshoot Azure networking solutions involving:
Azure VNets
ExpressRoute
Load Balancers
Network security and connectivity patterns
Support secure connectivity between Azure, on-premises, and other cloud environments.
Containers & Kubernetes
Support containerized workloads using Docker.
Work with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
Assist with deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of containerized applications.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of relevant cloud engineering experience, with at least 5 years managing large-scale Azure environments.
Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, ARM Templates, and/or Bicep.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and/or PowerShell.
Strong understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and connectivity architectures.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
Strong experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Grafana.
Experience with Azure Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, and RBAC.
Experience with Azure cost optimization and FinOps practices.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes/AKS.
Strong L3/L4 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) — highly preferred.
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) — highly preferred.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure environments.
Experience with cloud migration, modernization, and disaster recovery.
Experience implementing Azure Landing Zones and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
