Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus (~70%) and solid frontend capabilities (~30%) to help design, build, and scale a modern Student Management Platform.
This role is ideal for an engineer who excels in API development, data architecture, and distributed systems, while also contributing to user-facing features. You will play a critical role in shaping system architecture, improving engineering practices, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development (Primary Focus – ~70%)
Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and event-driven services using .NET / C#
Own backend architecture, including system design, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization
Design and optimize MSSQL / Azure SQL databases (data modeling, indexing, performance tuning)
Implement secure, maintainable, and efficient data access layers
Contribute to microservices and distributed system architecture
Implement observability practices (logging, monitoring, alerting)
Frontend Development (Secondary Focus – ~30%)
Develop responsive and high-performance UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Svelte, React)
Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs
Ensure usability, accessibility, and performance standards are met
Cross-Functional & Leadership Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
Lead the design and delivery of complex features and enhancements
Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end)
Conduct code reviews and enforce best engineering practices
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Collaborate with Product, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders
AI-Driven Development Expectations
Leverage AI-assisted development tools for code generation, testing, debugging, and documentation
Accelerate development workflows through intelligent automation
Validate AI-generated outputs to ensure quality, security, and scalability
Identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into the product
Promote responsible and effective AI usage across the engineering team
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional software engineering experience (backend-focused)
Strong expertise in .NET / C# and Web API development
Deep experience with MSSQL / Azure SQL
Solid experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks
Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and event-driven architecture
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
Strong knowledge of software design patterns (MVC, SOLID, DDD)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Svelte or similar modern frontend frameworks
Familiarity with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of authentication/authorization (OAuth, SSO, Auth0)
Experience with testing tools like Cypress
Exposure to DevSecOps and GitHub Advanced Security
Experience with event streaming / messaging systems
