Oracle EBS Finance Consultant
Client: California ISO
Location: Folsom, CA (Hybrid – Local candidates preferred; onsite as needed)
Duration: Contract
Work Authorization: USC, Green Card, EAD
Position Overview
California ISO is seeking a senior Oracle EBS Finance Consultant to support and enhance its Oracle E-Business Suite Finance application portfolio. This consultant will serve as a functional and technical expert, partnering closely with Finance and IT teams to deliver high-quality solutions, optimize business processes, and provide production support across Oracle Financials, Procurement, and Projects.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven Oracle EBS professional with deep functional expertise, strong technical development skills, and the ability to independently lead system enhancements, troubleshoot complex issues, and support enterprise Finance applications.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle EBS Functional Consulting
Provide functional expertise across Oracle EBS Financials, Procurement, and Projects modules.
Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather business requirements, analyze processes, and recommend scalable solutions.
Configure Oracle EBS modules to meet evolving business needs.
Support Oracle EBS applications, customizations, integrations, and internally developed solutions.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization.
Technical Development
Develop and troubleshoot solutions using SQL and PL/SQL.
Utilize Oracle development technologies including:
Oracle Forms
Oracle Reports
Oracle Application Framework (OAF)
BI Publisher
Oracle Workflow
Design, develop, modify, and implement technical enhancements, reports, interfaces, and production fixes.
Deliver quality solutions within project timelines and established standards.
Production Support
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex Oracle EBS production issues.
Manage incidents from investigation through resolution and communication.
Support application releases, testing cycles, deployments, and critical production events.
Ensure timely escalation and resolution of high-priority issues.
Business Partnership & Solution Delivery
Collaborate with Finance users, IT teams, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Lead solution design sessions, configuration activities, testing, deployment support, and defect resolution.
Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and issue status to stakeholders.
Drive successful implementation of business and technical initiatives.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Create and maintain:
Functional and technical documentation
Configuration documents
Support procedures
Troubleshooting guides
Knowledge transfer materials
Provide knowledge transfer to internal support teams for long-term application sustainability.
Governance & Compliance
Follow organizational standards for:
Change Management
Release Management
IT Governance
Security & Access Controls
Production Support Processes
Maintain confidentiality of financial, business, and system information.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Financials
Experience supporting:
Oracle Financials
Oracle Procurement
Oracle Projects
Deep understanding of Finance business processes and ERP best practices.
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
Technical Skills
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
Experience with:
Oracle Forms
Oracle Reports
Oracle Workflow
Oracle Application Framework (OAF)
BI Publisher
Experience supporting Oracle EBS customizations, integrations, and extensions.
Professional Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Experience leading design discussions, testing, and production support.
Proven ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise Finance ERP environments.
Ability to quickly learn internally developed applications and custom Oracle solutions.
Strong documentation and knowledge transfer experience.
Experience working in highly regulated or large enterprise environments.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Folsom, CA) – Local candidates preferred with onsite availability as needed.
