Position Overview
Hyatt Hotels is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support enterprise-scale digital, commercial, and guest-facing applications within its Global Technology organization.

This is a hands-on Automation Engineering role, not a traditional QA Analyst position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise automation frameworks while collaborating closely with Software Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and Agile Delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from the ground up.
Write clean, maintainable, and production-quality Java automation code.
Develop and execute automated UI and API test suites.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot production and testing issues.
Support enterprise releases, integrations, and UAT activities.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Mentor junior SDETs and promote automation best practices across teams.
Create and maintain test plans, test data, and defect documentation.
Required Qualifications
SDET & Automation Experience
5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Strong enterprise application testing experience
Experience supporting large-scale releases and system integrations
Java Development
Strong hands-on Java programming experience
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Ability to build maintainable and reusable automation solutions
Automation Framework Development
Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver
Experience building and enhancing automation frameworks
Strong UI test automation expertise
API Testing
REST and SOAP web services testing
Experience with Postman and SoapUI
API automation development and execution
CI/CD & DevOps
Jenkins pipeline integration and automation
Automated test execution within CI/CD environments
Build and deployment process integration
Version Control
Git source control
Branching, merging, and code management strategies
Agile Methodology
Scrum/Agile delivery experience
User story refinement and sprint participation
Defect tracking and lifecycle management
Communication & Collaboration
