Job Description

Possess 7-10  years of experience in Information Technology, specializing in test automation for applications at both UI and API levels.
Demonstrated ability to write and maintain automated tests for UI and APIs using Java, JavaScript, C#, or Python, leveraging open-source libraries such as Selenium, Cypress, and REST Assured.
Proficient in object-oriented languages like Java and C#, as well as scripting languages including Python, Perl, Shell, and Bash.
Skilled in testing and automating APIs and microservices.
Familiar with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), utilizing frameworks like Cucumber and JBehave.
Experienced in querying with SQL (preferred), Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
Knowledgeable in deploying applications to AWS or OpenShift (Kubernetes).
Able to automate backend REST services and develop custom functions using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, Cypress, and Ready API.
Capable of building automation frameworks from scratch, employing modular design and patterns like Page Object Model (POM).
Experienced in distributed agile teams and frameworks such as SCRUM, SAFe, and XP.
Familiar with continuous integration tools like Jenkins and CircleCI, and independently managing automation test jobs using these platforms.
Proficient with source code management tools including GitLab, GitHub, and AWS Code Commit.
Capable of generating comprehensive test reports from automated runs using tools like Cucumber Report and Extent Report.
Quick to adapt to new tools and emerging technologies.
Excellent communication skills with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts.
Attentive listener, effective communicator, and capable of preparing clear documentation.
Customer-focused and proactive in ensuring satisfaction.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and knowledge of the travel industry.
Infrastructure automation skills using Docker and tools like Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, AWS Code Pipeline, CloudFormation, etc.).
Service virtualization for test automation using tools like WireMock and Mockito.
Familiarity with test and agile management tools such as VersionOne and qTest.
Experience with container orchestration tools, including Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, and AWS CloudFormation.
Exposure to non-functional testing areas such as performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, and usability testing.
 

Responsibilities

The position requires analyzing requirements to assess automation feasibility, conducting regression tests, and developing scalable, reusable automated scripts.
Responsibilities include defect identification, documentation, and tracking; collaborating with development teams for issue resolution and retesting; and enhancing QA delivery through strategic process improvements.
Additional tasks involve developing UI automation scripts using Cypress, Mocha/BDD, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Playwright; validating front-end applications and APIs; writing API automation scripts with Cypress, Rest-Assured, and Postman; testing responsive applications across different platforms and browsers; and working with AWS components such as DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, S3, EC2, and Lambda.
