AI Engineer (Hybrid Role) – Illinois
Location: Lincolnshire, IL (Hybrid – 25% onsite)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer passionate about transforming business use cases using AI-driven technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in custom application development, AI-assisted coding tools, and modern DevOps practices.
This role will initially require onsite presence in Lincolnshire, IL for 3–4 months, followed by a hybrid work model. You will collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams and lead development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
AI-Assisted Development
Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Cursor to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation across the SDLC.
CI/CD Pipeline Management
Design, implement, and manage automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions for seamless deployment.
Containerization & Kubernetes
Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS).
Develop and maintain deployment manifests and configurations.
Performance & Reliability
Optimize application performance using resource configurations, ConfigMaps, and secrets management to ensure high availability.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Implement monitoring and logging solutions using tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, or Splunk.
Diagnose and resolve issues across applications and Kubernetes environments.
Required Experience
10+ years of experience in custom business application development
7+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum environments
Proven experience working with distributed (onshore/offshore) teams
Strong ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Required Skills
Programming: Go, Python, Node.js, React
Cloud Platforms: AWS (EKS), GCP (GKE), or Azure (AKS)
DevOps & Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions
Monitoring Tools: Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk
AI Tools: Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor
Work Model
