Location: Plano, TX (Onsite) – Locals ONLY

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Pay rate: $50/hr on C2C max

Job Description:     

Job Summary:

Looking for an experienced Mainframe resource to support a Mainframe-to-Java conversion program. The candidate will be responsible for application discovery, code inventory, dependency analysis, repository management, vendor coordination, and migration support activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform discovery and analysis of mainframe applications identified for Java conversion.
Identify and document all application components, dependencies, and interfaces.
Analyze and inventory of COBOL programs, JCLs, DB2 objects, VSAM files, IMS DB components, DFSORT utilities, Assembler programs, and Telon-generated code.
Identify missing source components, dependencies, and migration gaps.
Extract and manage source code from Endevor and other repository tools.
Share application source code and related artifacts with the conversion vendor through Git repositories.
Prepare and provide seed files, test data, and supporting artifacts for vendor testing.
Support vendor queries during conversion and testing phases.
Perform monthly codebase refreshes and synchronize changes from the mainframe environment to vendor repositories.
Maintain migration inventories, dependency documentation, and status reports.
Coordinate with application teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to support successful migration activities.

Experience working with offshore teams and third-party vendors
 

Skills: Mainframe DB2 – Application Development~System Z – Enterprise COBOL~System Z – JCL Experience Required: 8-10

Education: At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field is required.
