Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect (Application Modernisation)

Experience: 11+ years

Location: Onsite – New Jersey / NY

Overview We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead the modernisation of legacy applications into a cloud-native architecture on AWS. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS services, application migration strategies, and modernisation frameworks, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-optimized solutions. This role requires strong architectural leadership, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to deliver a successful transformation.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong expertise in AWS services: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, CloudWatch

Experience designing microservices, serverless architectures, and containerized workloads.

• Proven experience in modernising monolithic applications to cloud-native architectures.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

• Strong knowledge of IAM, VPC, security groups, encryption, and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Define cloud architecture strategy for modernising legacy applications to AWS.

• Design end-to-end AWS solutions leveraging services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and S3.

• Develop migration roadmaps including rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring approaches.

• Apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles for security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/CloudFormation.

• Ensure compliance with security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC design, and encryption standards.

• Conduct architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization for cloud workloads.
