Role: Full Stack Java AWS Developer
Location: Reston, VA (Once a Week)

Client: CareFirst BCBS

Type: 9 months Contract (Possibly Extension)

Need someone in DMV Area onlyNeed EX CareFirst or Freddie Mac

only H1B 

Project Summary

The team is working on a cloud migration initiative for the Member 360 application. The immediate goal is to bring experienced engineers onboard quickly to help complete migration activities before year-end.

Primary focus includes:

Migrating Java applications to AWS Cloud.
Database migration from legacy UDB to PostgreSQL Aurora.
MongoDB integration.
Integrating AI services into existing applications.

Must-Have Skills

AWS Cloud (Highest Priority)

Strong hands-on AWS experience.
Cloud migration experience is mandatory.
Must have worked on migrating enterprise Java applications to AWS.
Java Backend

Strong Java development experience.
Web Services.
Apache Tomcat.
Database Experience

Strong preference for:

MongoDB (very important)
PostgreSQL
Aurora PostgreSQL
Experience with migrating legacy databases into PostgreSQL is highly desirable.

Cloud Migration

Candidates should have:

Hands-on cloud migration experience.
Experience moving enterprise applications to AWS.
Strong understanding of cloud architecture.

Highly Preferred Skills

AI / Generative AI integration experience.
Experience integrating AI services into enterprise applications.
AWS AI-related services exposure is beneficial.
Although AI will not consume 100% of the work, the application already includes AI initiatives and additional integrations are planned.

Front-End Expectations

Angular UI.
Some UI development is required.
This is not primarily a Front-End role.
