  • Role: Field Operations Engineer · 5G AI-RAN 
  • Location: Dalls,TX
  • Duration: 6+ months
  • Visa: USC only
  • Rate: $70/hr

 Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Hands-on 5G RAN deployment and operations experience. Direct experience with gNB bring-up, interface verification (N2, N3, F1, E1, and fronthaul interfaces), RAN protocol analysis (RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, NGAP, F1AP, E1AP), handover testing, KPI analysis, and live network troubleshooting.
  • 5G RAN architecture experience. Working knowledge of 5G RAN architecture, the relationships between CU, DU, and RU, and how the RAN integrates with the 5G Core.
  • Cloud-native infrastructure: Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting. Experience deploying containerized network functions on Kubernetes in production. Comfortable debugging pod-level and cluster-level failures, working with Helm charts, operators, CNI plugins, and observability stacks. Experience with GPU-based platforms (GPU node configuration in Kubernetes, GPU operator, driver and CUDA stack troubleshooting, GPU workload scheduling) is preferred.
  • RF planning and RF design familiarity. Able to read a coverage plan, evaluate site geometry for capacity and interference, validate that an RU’s actual deployment matches the planned design, and identify when an RF assumption looks wrong on the ground.
  • Network performance troubleshooting. Diagnose performance issues across the RF, RAN, and transport domains. RF and RAN: KPI analysis, interference identification and mitigation, handover and mobility issues, beam management on massive MIMO deployments. Transport: fronthaul and backhaul troubleshooting on switched networks, timing drift, packet loss, and the network-layer symptoms that present as RF problems. Comfortable with drive test outputs, RAN counters, protocol traces, and switch and router CLI for diagnosis.
  • Customer-facing maturity. Comfortable working at customer sites with operators, enterprise IT, and government program technical leads. Communicates clearly under pressure, manages expectations honestly, writes acceptance documentation that holds up to scrutiny.

Useful background
•    O-RAN architecture experience

•    UE debugger and drive test tools: QXDM, QCAT, XCAL, XCAP, or equivalent

•    Hands-on experience with massive MIMO deployments and beam management

•    Spectrum management and licensing experience: CBRS, mid-band

•    Linux systems administration at the level needed to debug an edge node independently

•    Familiarity with Python and Bash scripting and usage of AI to build tools

•    Public safety, defense, mining, or industrial deployment experience

•    Active or prior security clearance
