NCDIT Transportation is seeking a Java Mid-Level Technical Specialist to support the DMV Traffic Records Systems (TRS). The TRS supports the DMV Crash Data Management and DOH Traffic Safety teams in collecting, analyzing, and distributing motor vehicle accident data. This role will focus on maintaining enterprise applications, leading complex Java projects, and providing 24×7 second-level on-call support.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as technical specialist and consultant for Java-based systems within the TRS environment. Translate business requests into technical requirements and user stories. Coordinate software release schedules with business and technical teams. Develop and implement enterprise-level software enhancements and maintenance solutions. Provide 24×7 technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Participate in application analysis, design, cost estimation, documentation, and testing. Deliver technical training and end-user support when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML. 3+ years of experience with Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN). Strong background in application analysis, design, documentation, and implementation. Minimum 3 years of technical helpdesk or production support experience.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, and Hibernate. Java Certification preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic productivity tools.
