Role Summary

We are hiring a hands-on Java Full Stack Technical Lead / Architect who can design, build, and own data-driven systems on AWS. This is a coding + architecture leadership role, not a people-only or advisory position. The ideal candidate sits at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud architecture, data platforms, and business execution. You will lead technical decisions, review code and architecture, and act as the single point of technical accountability.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and own scalable, data-driven systems end-to-end
  • Lead hands-on development using Java (backend) and React (frontend)
  • Architect and implement AWS-native solutions (Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, APIs)
  • Define data models, data flows, and integrations (not just dashboards)
  • Review architecture, code, and technical designs across teams
  • Lead and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on
  • Translate business requirements into practical technical architectures
  • Manage delivery risks, timelines, dependencies, and post-release issues
  • Clearly explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
  • Work closely with product, business, and engineering teams in Agile setups
  • Act as a Tech Lead / pseudo-PO when needed

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience
  • Strong backend development in Java (Spring / Microservices)
  • Expert-level experience with React frameworks
  • Strong experience designing systems on AWS
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, SQL, data flows, and APIs
  • Experience owning platforms or systems, not just features
  • Proven ability to lead technical decisions and architecture reviews
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum environments
  • Background in large-scale or enterprise systems

 

Ideal Background

  • Senior Software Engineer → Tech Lead → Platform/Data Lead
  • Tech Lead experience in:
    • Retail systems
    • Inventory platforms
    • POS integrations
    • Commerce or Supply Chain systems
  • Engineers who have worked on:

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with the credibility to lead technical decisions
  • Is strong in data analysis (SQL, Python) and understands how data drives business outcomes
  • Has designed and owned systems, not just written code
  • Can translate business needs into technical architectures
  • Has worked closely with product, business, and engineering teams
  • Has experience acting as a Product Owner or pseudo-PO in Agile setups
  • Is comfortable being the single technical point of accountability
