JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction, the Database Administrator is responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of the Database Management Systems. Duties include but are not limited to installation, deployment, performance evaluation and tuning, technology research/evaluation, architecture design, capacity planning and mitigation for the enterprise Database Management Systems environments, both on-prem (physical/virtual), and cloud. Responsible for understanding the technical design and operation of enterprise Database Management Systems and learning the concepts behind the technical design and operation of Cloud database solutions that meet business application requirements. Responsible for coordinating with business partners and application owners for maintenance to existing environments and planning for additional capacity and upgrades. Be available for on-call support as needed.
Team members are responsible for securely managing information systems throughout their lifecycle, including; knowing what information systems are within their scope of responsibility, understanding what sensitive data is stored, transmitted, or processed on those information systems, enforcing the security principles of least privilege and least functionality, knowing what events may constitute an information security incident, and understanding their role in security incident response activities.
