Job: Documentum Consultant – OpenText
Location : NYC, NY – Onsite – Need Only Locals
Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Summary
The Documentum Consultant will lead and/or support the implementation, configuration, upgrade, migration and ongoing support of the OpenText Documentum enterprise content management (ECM) platform. You will engage with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to ensure the ECM solution meets business requirements, adheres to best practices, and integrates with other enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define repository structures, object types, lifecycles, permission sets, workflows, jobs and methods in Documentum.
- Perform system upgrades and migrations (e.g., from older Documentum versions or other ECM systems) to newer Documentum versions or to cloud infrastructure.
- Optimize performance, troubleshoot issues (content server, index server, application server, integration points). Integrate Documentum with other enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, SharePoint, cloud services) using REST/SOAP, APIs, DQL/DFC
- Develop technical documentation: architecture specs, installation plans, migration strategies, governance guidelines.
- Work with business and technical stakeholders: gather requirements, perform gap analysis, participate in UAT, ensure handover to support teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 + years (or as per requirement) experience in Documentum technologies (Content Server, D2, Webtop, xCP, DQL, DFC) in an enterprise environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Web Services (SOAP/REST), integration technologies.
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server), application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss).
- Experience with Documentum upgrades/migrations and cloud (AWS, Azure) deployments is a plus.
- Understanding of enterprise content management best practices, governance, compliance (records management, regulatory requirements) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams, and lead/troubleshoot technical issues.
