Job Title: DevOps Software Design Engineer 3

Location: Remote (SEATTLE, WA)

Duration: 12+ Contract

Job Description：            

We’re looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering, and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. The DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure

• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results

• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats

• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes

• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

• Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions

• Deploy updates and fixes

• Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience

• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems

• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues

• Develop scripts to automate visualization

• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

• 5-7 years experience required

• Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role

• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

• Large systems software design and development experience

• Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems

• Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution

• Proficiency with Git and Azure DevOps

• Proficiency with Linux, Kubernetes, C#

• Problem-solving attitude

• Collaborative team spirit

Degrees or certifications:

N.A

Best vs Average:

Someone with experience in .NET, C#, Linux Kubernetes, DAEX, ADO Azure DevOps pipelines, Github, Cloud, AWS, GCS, running a service at scale, running live services, debugging in Kubernetes

Performance Indicators:

meeting deadlines, quality of work, work through sprints, hit the sprint timeline, making sure that work that is being displayed works and is correct.

2.           Cloud provider experience: 5 years

3.           Linux Kubernetes: 5 years
