Role: Senior Enterprise Salesforce Architect
Location: Dallas, TX & San Jose, CA
Duration: 6 Months
Experience: 12+ Years
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned architect who can bridge enterprise-scale web infrastructure with deep Salesforce platform expertise. This dual-hat role is responsible for designing, governing, and evolving our end-to-end technology landscape — from high-traffic consumer-facing applications serving up to 2 million users to our Salesforce-powered CRM and commerce ecosystems. You will own architectural decisions, enforce security and compliance standards, mentor engineering teams, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to business leadership across both domains.
Enterprise / Web Architecture ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain the enterprise reference architecture for modern web applications built on Vercel (Next.js), ConvexDB, and supporting cloud services.
Architect systems for extreme scale — designing for up to 2M users with high-traffic and with low-latency, high-availability, and graceful degradation strategies.
Implement and own the observability stack using Axiom (or comparable platforms), including structured logging, distributed tracing, real-time alerting, and traffic analytics dashboards.
Evaluate architectural tradeoffs (monolith vs. micro-services, edge vs. origin, server vs. client rendering, relational vs. document stores) and document decisions through ADRs.
Apply proven design patterns such as CQRS, event sourcing, circuit breaker, bulkhead isolation, and cache-aside appropriate to workload characteristics.
Ensure all systems handling Protected Health Information (PHI) meet HIPAA technical safeguards and SOC 2 Type II controls, including encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, access controls, and BAA compliance with vendors.
Lead capacity planning, load testing, and chaos engineering exercises to validate resilience under peak traffic.
Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams on risk assessments, penetration testing remediation, and incident response architecture.
Salesforce Architecture ResponsibilitiesServe as the lead Salesforce Architect across B2B and B2C commerce, CRM, and engagement platforms.
Design and govern the Salesforce data model — objects, relationships, sharing rules, and large data volume strategies — ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Architect and oversee Lightning Web Component (LWC) development standards, reusable component libraries, and frontend performance best practices.
Lead the design and rollout of B2B Loyalty Cloud solutions, including points engines, tier management, promotions, and partner integrations.
Guide complex Apex development (triggers, batch jobs, queueable/future patterns, platform events) with emphasis on governor limit management and bulkification.
Define integration architecture between Salesforce and external systems using REST APIs, platform events, Change Data Capture
Establish DevOps practices for the Salesforce ecosystem including CI/CD pipelines, scratch org strategies, and release management.
Business Stakeholder Communication & Strategic Partnership
Act as the primary technical liaison between engineering teams and business stakeholders — translating complex architectural concepts, constraints, and tradeoffs into clear, outcome-driven language that resonates with non-technical audiences.
Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations, and executive leadership to align technology roadmaps with business objectives, revenue targets, and go-to-market timelines.
Lead architecture review boards and steering committee presentations, providing data-backed recommendations on build vs. buy decisions, platform investments, and technical debt prioritization.
Produce and maintain executive-facing artifacts including capability maps, solution blueprints, cost-benefit analyses, and risk scorecards that enable informed decision-making.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops (discovery sessions, design thinking, roadmap planning) to gather requirements, surface dependencies, and drive consensus across business units.
Proactively communicate system health, scalability risks, and compliance posture to leadership through recurring dashboards and quarterly technology reviews.
Manage vendor and partner relationships from a technical perspective — evaluating proposals, negotiating technical terms, and presenting vendor assessments to business sponsors.
Champion a culture of transparency by providing regular, jargon-free updates on project milestones, architectural pivots, and the business impact of technical decisions.
Required Qualifications10–15 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in a principal or lead architect capacity.
Demonstrated experience architecting and operating systems at scale (1M+ concurrent users).
Hands-on expertise with Vercel, ConvexDB, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
Production experience with Axiom or similar observability platforms (Datadog, Grafana, New Relic) for monitoring high-traffic environments.
Deep working knowledge of HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance requirements, particularly around PHI data handling, audit controls, and vendor risk management.
Salesforce certifications preferred: Application Architect, System Architect, or Technical Architect (CTA track).
Extensive experience with Salesforce B2B Commerce, B2C Commerce, and Loyalty Management Cloud.
Strong proficiency in Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, and the Salesforce data and metadata model.
Proven track record of influencing business strategy through technical thought leadership, with the ability to present confidently to C-suite executives, board members, and external partners.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing executive briefs, architecture decision records, and stakeholder-ready presentations.
