Point of Sale (POS) Technical SME
Location: Bethesda, MD (Remote possible, must work in EST time zone)
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Act as the onsite technical SME for POS systems, supporting enterprise POS environments
Lead and execute vulnerability remediation initiatives across POS platforms
Collaborate with security teams to assess, report, and mitigate system vulnerabilities
Support and maintain Scout ISP integration to ensure compliance and reliable data flow
Develop and deploy Power scripts and automation tools for remediation and system health
Use BigFix for patch management, compliance reporting, and remediation deployment
Provide technical support and configuration expertise for Shiji, Oracle Simphony, and other POS systems
Troubleshoot and resolve complex POS issues with minimal operational disruption
Document technical procedures, configurations, and remediation activities
Participate in audits and ensure compliance with security and operational standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience working as a POS Technical SME in enterprise environments
Strong hands-on experience with Shiji, Oracle Simphony, and other POS platforms
In-depth knowledge of vulnerability management, security protocols, and compliance standards
Proficiency in Power scripting and automation
Experience using BigFix for endpoint management and patch deployment
Familiarity with Scout ISP and its role within POS infrastructure
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency with Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and other MS Office tools
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in cybersecurity, POS systems, or scripting technologies
Experience in hospitality or retail environments
Knowledge of PCI compliance and data protection standards
