Description
The Abbott Clinical Systems team is looking for an experienced DevOps/Kubernetes Contractor to help implement and operationalize a new on-premises Kubernetes platform. This team is sunsetting a legacy Oracle Clinical On-prem product and integrating a new Oracle Clinical SaaS solution that can be hosted. This role will focus on infrastructure provisioning, GitOps workflows, CI/CD pipeline setup, and observability tooling.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and capable of working across engineering and infrastructure teams to deliver a robust, secure, and maintainable container orchestration environment.
Responsibilities:
• Stand up and configure Kubernetes clusters across development, test, and production environments
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Set up and manage GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
• Deploy and configure an observability stack including:
• Prometheus and Grafana for metrics
• Loki for logging
• Open Telemetry for tracing
• Implement secure access controls (RBAC/ABAC) and network routing via Ingress
• Contribute to technical documentation and internal runbooks
• Provide ongoing support for application onboarding and pipeline troubleshooting
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Engineering
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, preferably in on-premises or hybrid environments
• Strong proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles
• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Familiarity with observability tools and modern monitoring practices
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
