Key Responsibilities

Review and evaluate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software to understand existing functionality, workflows, and limitations

Analyze system logic, decision paths, and embedded business rules within the COTS product

Elicit, document, and validate current-state and future-state business requirements

Translate complex business processes into clear functional specifications and user stories

Identify gaps between COTS capabilities and organizational needs; recommend customization or redesign approaches

Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and architects on custom redesign solutions

Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business rules catalogs, process flows, and data mappings

Support system redesign by defining acceptance criteria and validating requirements against developed solutions

Facilitate stakeholder workshops and walkthroughs to confirm understanding and alignment

Assist with UAT planning and execution to ensure redesigned functionality meets business needs

 

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Business Analyst working with COTS software implementations or assessments

Strong ability to analyze system logic, workflows, and business rules

Experience documenting functional requirements, process diagrams, and decision logic

Hands-on collaboration with development teams on custom software redesigns

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC practices
