Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in Capital Markets and Asset Management, combined with solid hands-on SQL skills. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data specialists to gather requirements, analyze data, and drive the successful delivery of solutions that support front-to-back investment management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and IT teams to understand business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
- Lead business analysis for projects involving capital markets trading platforms, portfolio management, risk, and compliance systems.
- Conduct gap analysis, process mapping, and solution assessments for asset management workflows.
- Write detailed business and functional specifications for development teams.
- Perform complex SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and reporting to support business decisions.
- Work with data warehouses, investment data models, and analytics platforms.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), issue tracking, and resolution.
- Serve as a liaison between business and technology stakeholders.
- Assist in project planning, risk management, and reporting as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets or Asset Management domain.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, derivatives, mutual funds, ETFs, etc.
- In-depth understanding of front-office, middle-office, and back-office processes in asset management.
- Proven ability to write and execute complex SQL queries for data analysis and extraction.
- Familiarity with industry platforms and tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Charles River, Aladdin, Markit EDM, Eagle, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and Confluence preferred.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to convey complex business and technical concepts.
