Role: Azure and NIX System Architect

Location: Remote

Position: C2C

Job Description:-

·         Must have hands on Azure, Linux & Windows

·         Must be able to manage team as well as Customers for their Project executions.

·         Should be an advisor related to Azure and Infra

Overview of Role

         Primary point of contact for Azure and *Nix system administration activities for both operations and projects

         Provide RTS support for all current applications running in the PaaS Azure environment

         Work across teams and vendors to make sure the team are following bets practices for incident management, service requests

         Must have hands on Azure, Linux & Windows

         Must be able to manage team as well as Customers for their Project executions.

         Should be an advisor related to Azure and Infra

 

Basic Core Skills:

         UNIX/Linux Systems Administration

·         OS: RHEL 7 and 8, Oracle Linux 7/UEK

·         Authentication/Authorization (sssd, pam.d, ldap, access. conf, sudoers, etc)

·         User Management (useradd, groupadd, chage, usermod, solid understanding of UNIX permissions, umask)

·         Storage Management (Logical Volume Manager – pvcreate, vgcreate, lvcreate, lvresize; creating/mounting file systems, automounter, NFS, CIFS)

·         Data Management (rsync, sftp, scp)

·         Secure Shell (understanding sshd_config, ssh tunneling, public/private keys, authorized_keys)

·         Patching (yum, rpm)

·         Services (systemctl, service, postfix – main.cf)

·         Configuration (networking, timezone, package install, Python pip, pip3)

·         IT Security (best practices, log files, auditd, Splunk, Qualys, CrowdStrike, SELinux)

·         Troubleshooting

·         Scientific Method for Problem Solving

·         Opening Azure Support Cases

·         Opening Oracle SRs

·         Commands: strace, ncat, ifconfig, df, ps, top, tcpdump, etc.

         Shell Scripting

·         KSH (preferred) and/or BASH, Python, Perl

·         Ability to read and understand scripts

·         Ability to modify existing scripts

·         Cloud Configure (Cloud-Init)

 

Azure Core Skills:

         Azure CLI

·         It’s how we build things… via KSH or BASH scripts

         Azure Portal

·         Marketplace

·         Understand Core Resources (Resource Groups, Proximity Placement Groups, Virtual Networks – subnets, Virtual Network Interfaces, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, Firewall, Virtual Machine, Managed Disk, Storage Account – standard and premium, Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, Disk Encryption Set, Managed Identity, Private DNS, Private Links, Route Tables, Network and Application Security Groups, Azure Policies, AKS, ASE, Accelerated Networking, Azure Site Recovery, Recovery Services Vault/Backup + pre/post scripts, Azure NetApp Files, azcopy)
