Accounting Clerk
Role Summary
The Accounting Clerk supports VIAs finance operations by performing accurate data entry, transaction processing, and verification of financial records in accordance with public sector accounting standards.Key Responsibilities
Enter and process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Verify invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Assist with reconciliations and data corrections
Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
Support audits and finance team requests
Perform routine financial data entry and validation tasksRequired Qualifications
2+ years of accounting or finance clerical experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Experience with financial systems or ERP platformsPreferred Qualifications
Experience in government or public sector accounting
Familiarity with transit or municipal finance processes
