Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack (FS) Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and SQL databases. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications in the banking and financial services domain, particularly in payment processing, card disputes, chargebacks, and fraud claim management.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable applications and APIs that support dispute management workflows, payment exceptions, reconciliation, and related banking operations. The role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate directly with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications for payment and card dispute management.
- Develop and enhance applications supporting chargebacks, fraud claims, retrieval requests, arbitration, and payment exception processing.
- Build scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, batch processing solutions, and workflow automation components using Java and Spring Boot.
- Write efficient SQL queries and perform database operations, data validation, and database testing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Participate in application design, technical architecture discussions, code reviews, and Agile development activities.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions for production incidents.
- Implement secure coding practices and ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies to support asynchronous processing and system integration.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, version control, build processes, and application deployment activities.
- Ensure compliance with banking standards, card network requirements, regulatory guidelines, and audit requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8, Java 11, or Java 17.
- Strong experience developing applications using Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with database testing, query optimization, and data validation.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with Git and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of application integration, distributed systems, and enterprise application development.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work directly with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work onsite five days per week in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.
