Job Overview

We have an immediate requirement for a Senior Java/API Technical Lead to drive performance improvements and capability enhancements for our OASIS enterprise content API platform.

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader with strong expertise in Java development, API optimization, JVM performance tuning, and microservices architecture. The candidate will analyze existing code, identify performance bottlenecks, recommend architectural improvements, and lead implementation alongside the current engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing Java applications and REST APIs.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and improve application scalability and throughput.
• Perform JVM tuning, garbage collection analysis, memory profiling, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and enhance REST APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Optimize SQL queries, JDBC operations, database access, and connection pooling.
• Implement caching, rate limiting, API security, and resilience strategies.
• Conduct performance testing, load testing, and root-cause analysis.
• Improve observability through logging, metrics, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and architectural improvements.
• Use enterprise-approved AI coding assistants to accelerate development, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation while following security and governance standards.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Java development and performance engineering, with a proven track record of diagnosing complex performance issues and delivering measurable improvements in enterprise-scale applications.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not primarily a project-management or coordination position.
