Location: Kansas City, KS -Remote (Genuine local candidate)
Interview Type: Will be in person
The work will be performed remotely (in person is a possibility if requested by the team)
they do require the person live within 100 miles of Kansas City and also they MUST go in person for the interview- Make sure candidates are genuinely on the location
looking for a Software Engineer fullstack consultant to assist the team with new code development on the FDR MOD team to perform new software development assignments. The consultant will attend daily standups, report progress, plan for the day and impediments.
Required:
· Full-stack engineer, senior level- 10+ Years
· Strong Java (8+, ideally 17+) – Spring Boot services, JPA/persistence
· Angular (TypeScript) SPA development – plus HTML/CSS
· Strong SQL skills, including understanding of relationships, indices, CTEs,
transaction management, connection pooling, and performance characteristics of queries
· Dependency & CVE remediation discipline; comfortable working under SCA/quality gates (Nexus IQ, SonarQube)
· Works independently and collaboratively; adaptable across a mixed legacy/modern codebase
· Experience using AI tools responsibly and safely, with the discipline to validate outputs and an ownership mentality for the quality of delivered work
Preferred
· Recent new development experience
· GitLab
· IntelliJ
· TDD with JUnit
· Java build tools (Maven/Gradle)
· Troubleshooting/debugging depth
Useful
· Insurance/financial regulatory-data domain
· CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)
· Agile/SAFe
Interview Process:
Resumes reviewed and the top candidates will be invited to a skills assessment lasting ~ 75 – 90 minutes. If multiple candidates are successful with the skills assessment an invitation for the candidates to meet the team in an interview lasting ~45 minutes and is typically virtual. The skills assessment will take place in person.
