Job Title : Google Cloud Platform Engineer (senior)
Location: Remote 100%
Rate: 160K -170K per annum w2 full time
Start Date: As soon as BI is cleared

We’re looking for a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to design, build, and maintain our core cloud infrastructure. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things related to GCP’s foundational services, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and reliable. If you have a deep knowledge of GCP’s networking, storage, database and security features, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
· Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud.
· Manage core GCP services, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, firewalls, and routing tables.
· Configure and maintain GCP storage solutions like Cloud Storage, Filestore, and Persistent Disk.
· Oversee identity and access management (IAM) to ensure the principle of least privilege is applied.
· Manage and operate cloud-native database services such as Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Bigtable, including performance tuning and high-availability configuration.
· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure costs.
· Manage container orchestration platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
· Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications have the necessary infrastructure resources.
· Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
Required Qualifications:
· 10+ years of working with Cloud technologies
· 5+ years of experience working directly with applications or resources in Google Cloud
· Proven experience as a Platform, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineer.
· Deep, hands-on experience with foundational GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and VPC.
· Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs within a cloud environment.
· Experience with infrastructure such as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
· GCP certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) is a plus.
· Experience with scripting tools such as Bash and Python
· Experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins or Harness
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
· Existing  TS clearance is a plus or public trust to higher
