Job Description:
The Sr. Platform Architect, Global Infrastructure is a technical subject matter expert for the operational health of our platform services.
This role will play a crucial role in integrating clients on-premises infrastructure, cloud infrastructure services and external providers platform services.
This requires a deep technical understanding of virtualized technologies, networking concepts and storage platforms.
Additionally, the Sr. Platform Architect should understand our regulatory compliance, particularly in the context of GxP (Good Practices).
Key Competencies
· Demonstrated proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure solutions, enabling VMware virtualization, SD-WAN & MPLS technologies, and Dell Storage platforms.
· Good understanding of L2/L3 networking and how to integrate Azure and AWS with on-premises environments.
· Comfortable with public speaking and leading technical presentations, acting as a subject matter expert between technical and non-technical staff.
· Hands-on individual that has a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making; with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions autonomously.
· Contribute and oversee incoming work requests supporting TSA requests and global based requestors; action on delivering infrastructure designs, rough orders of magnitude, and technical build tasks lists.
· Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while balancing business-as-usual and project engineering tasks; utilizing ITIL best practices for service management and processes like waterfall and agile to execute against projects.
· Facilitating and collaborating to deliver on TSA based milestones and corporate value by providing support to the M&A&D project management office, business relationship managers and application owners throughout the solution’s life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop infrastructure solutions supporting TSAs, following Catalent’s global standards.
- Optimize hybrid infrastructure performance, availability, and cost-efficiency.
- Act as a single point of contact for technical infrastructure TSA related activities.
- Document and communicate platform infrastructure architecture and design decisions.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing.
- Experience transforming legacy systems into modern, automated, role-based systems.
Requirements
· Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure solution design, engineering, and/or cloud IT support.
· Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
· Experience with Cisco and HPE networking concepts, including fundamental networking protocols.
· Experience with AWS VPC, AWS Private Link and AWS CloudWatch reporting.
· Experience with Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Monitor and Azure Arc.
· Experience working in a managed service provider environment is a plus.
· Experience with Ansible, ServiceNow CMDB, VMware and Dell platforms.
· Experience with enterprise and global managed services providers.
· Experience in cloud migrations, bi-direction migrations between on-premises and cloud.
· Certifications in VMWare, AWS and Azure technologies are a plus.
