Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced OBIEE Administrator to manage, maintain, and support the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, security management, troubleshooting, and migration activities across development, testing, and production environments. The role requires strong expertise in Oracle BI architecture, middleware administration, and enterprise reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Support
Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle OBIEE environments.
Administer OBIEE components including BI Server, Presentation Services, BI Publisher, Scheduler, and WebLogic Server.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability of BI applications.
Perform routine maintenance activities and ensure platform stability.
Environment Management
Manage Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
Coordinate application deployments and migrations across environments.
Configure and manage clustered OBIEE environments for high availability.
Implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Security Administration
Configure authentication and authorization using LDAP, Active Directory, or Single Sign-On (SSO).
Manage application roles, groups, permissions, and object-level security.
Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and governance policies.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
Analyze and tune OBIEE performance at the repository (RPD), WebLogic, and database levels.
Monitor query performance, cache utilization, and resource consumption.
Implement performance optimization techniques for dashboards and reports.
Troubleshooting & Incident Management
Diagnose and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
Analyze log files and system metrics to identify root causes of incidents.
Coordinate with database, infrastructure, network, and application teams for issue resolution.
Support production releases and critical business reporting cycles.
Repository & Metadata Management
Support RPD deployment and version control processes.
Validate metadata models and repository consistency.
Assist developers with repository and dashboard-related issues.
Automation & Documentation
Develop scripts to automate administrative and monitoring tasks.
Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and runbooks.
Prepare environment health reports and capacity planning analyses.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience with:
Oracle OBIEE 11g/12c
Oracle WebLogic Server
Oracle BI Publisher
Oracle Database
Linux/Unix administration
Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, and Single Sign-On integrations.
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record in OBIEE upgrades, migrations, security implementations, and performance optimization.
Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
Experience with Oracle Analytics Server (OAS).
Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Middleware administration.
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, ODI, or Data Integrator.
Experience in high-availability and disaster recovery implementations.
Oracle certifications related to OBIEE, OAS, or WebLogic administration.
