Job Title: Mainframe CICS System Administrator
Location: Phoenix Metro, AZ
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Relocation: Candidates willing to relocate to Phoenix will be considered.

Role Summary

Seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS System Administrator responsible for administration, maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and modernization of IBM CICS Transaction Server environments. The consultant will support mission-critical enterprise platforms and work closely with z/OS, DB2, IMS, MQ, storage, and application teams.

Key Responsibilities

CICS Administration & Maintenance

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS).
• Apply PTFs, maintenance, and version upgrades.
• Perform regression validation following upgrades and maintenance.
• Configure and maintain CICS production, test, and DR regions.
• Maintain startup parameters and DFHSIT/System Initialization Tables.
• Support CICS region startup/shutdown and recovery activities.

Performance Monitoring & Tuning

• Monitor CICS transaction performance and system health.
• Analyze transaction response times, CPU utilization, storage usage, and system resources.
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as:
  • OMEGAMON
  • MainView
  • TMON

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on CICS Transaction Server administration experience.
• Experience installing and upgrading CICS TS.
• Experience with CICS regions and DFHSIT.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
• Experience in enterprise/mainframe production environments.
• Strong understanding of IBM z/OS.

Preferred

• OMEGAMON/MainView/TMON experience.
• Experience with CICS modernization.
• Experience working in banking/financial-services environments.
• ITIL/ServiceNow change-management experience.
