Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with expert-level, hands-on experience in Proofpoint enterprise email security to lead the migration from on-premises Cisco IronPort email security appliances to a cloud-based Proofpoint email security solution. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway, enterprise email security architecture, MTA, Linux, and VMware environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration from on-premises Cisco IronPort appliances to Proofpoint cloud-based email security, ensuring minimal disruption to email services.
Design, configure, implement, and maintain Proofpoint as an enterprise email security service.
Configure and manage Proofpoint firewall rules, email block lists, quarantine policies, and release processes.
Respond to requests to quarantine, release, block, or manage emails within Proofpoint. Troubleshoot complex enterprise email security, messaging, mail-flow, and filtering issues. Manage and support Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway 8.x environments. Apply strong knowledge of Mail Transfer Agents (MTA) and enterprise messaging infrastructure.
Support and troubleshoot Linux Server environments.
Work with VMware/virtualized environments supporting messaging and security infrastructure.
Ensure secure, reliable, and highly available enterprise email services throughout migration and ongoing operations.
