Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join the Jetsons Squad, an intelligent automation team within the Automation & Productivity organization.
This role combines RPA engineering, AI/LLM integration, frontend development, and production engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on UiPath experience along with the ability to architect, develop, deploy, and support enterprise automation solutions.
The engineer will evaluate business processes and determine whether RPA, AI, or a hybrid approach is the best solution. This position also requires strong production ownership, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to integrate emerging AI capabilities into automation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain end-to-end UiPath automation solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical owner for production automation stability, including monitoring, incident triage, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Evaluate automation opportunities and determine whether RPA, AI/LLM, or hybrid solutions provide the best business and technical outcome.
• Analyze processes for ROI, cost savings, operational efficiency, and automation feasibility.
• Build and maintain React-based frontend applications for automation outputs, operational dashboards, and AI-enabled workflow tools.
• Integrate LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude, into automation solutions.
• Develop and support AI-native patterns such as RAG, function calling, agentic workflows, and streaming interfaces.
• Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into automation epics, features, and user stories.
• Participate in PI Planning, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and other Agile/SAFe activities.
• Collaborate with investment and business teams to identify automation opportunities and design workflows that meet operational and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain technical architecture documentation, process flows, API contracts, design specifications, and operational runbooks using Arc42 or equivalent frameworks.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Establish and maintain coding, development, testing, and code-review standards.
• Support the evaluation and adoption of emerging automation and AI technologies, including UiPath Autopilot and agentic workflow frameworks.
• Collaborate with enterprise Intelligent Automation teams and represent automation capabilities across the organization.
Required Qualifications
UiPath / RPA
• Strong hands-on experience with UiPath development and RPA architecture.
• Experience designing and delivering production-grade UiPath automation solutions.
• UiPath certification such as UiARD or equivalent is preferred.
React / Frontend
• Hands-on experience with React 18+.
• Strong TypeScript experience.
• Experience with component architecture and REST/API integrations.
AI / LLM
• Hands-on experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Anthropic APIs.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, function calling, streaming interfaces, or agentic AI workflows.
Production Operations
• Experience supporting live production automation environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, incident management, and root-cause analysis skills.
Automation Analysis & Design
• Ability to assess business processes and identify automation opportunities.
• Experience evaluating ROI, cost savings, efficiency improvements, and implementation feasibility.
Agile / SAFe
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Participation in PI Planning, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and Jira-based delivery.
Time Zone
• Must be available during core EST business hours and for required sprint/PI ceremonies.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in financial services, investments, banking, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with Snowflake, including data querying, pipeline integration, and analytics workflows.
• Experience with Python and/or C#.
• Experience with Power BI and/or SharePoint.
• Experience with ServiceNow or Salesforce workflow configuration and API integration.
