Java Application Support Admin

We are looking for a Programmer Analyst to join our team and provide technical support, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements for a portfolio of applications supporting business operations. This role combines application support, software development, and systems integration while working closely with senior team members to gain knowledge of critical business applications. A major focus of this position is ensuring effective knowledge transfer, improving documentation, and expanding application support coverage across the team.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support, maintenance, and enhancements for operational applications, including:IBM Maximo (Enterprise Asset Management), including Red Hat OpenShift support in collaboration with IBM consultants.
Custom Java / Spring Boot integration application (“MO-1”).
Third-party applications including Telog, GraniteNet, and DataSplice.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues while partnering with business users to minimize operational disruptions.
Design, develop, and maintain application integrations, including APIs, data interfaces, and automated workflows.
Configure applications and implement minor system enhancements to meet business needs.
Participate in software upgrades, patch deployments, and routine system maintenance activities.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including application architecture, support procedures, configuration details, and process flows.
Develop, execute, and validate test plans for new features, enhancements, and production fixes.
Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather, refine, and validate functional and technical requirements.
Adhere to established ITIL processes for incident management, change management, and application support.
Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation (approximately one week every six weeks).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
4–7 years of experience supporting, developing, or maintaining enterprise applications.
Hands-on development experience with Java, preferably using Spring Boot.
Strong experience working with SQL and relational database systems.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working directly with business users to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platforms such as IBM Maximo.
Knowledge of application integration technologies, including APIs, middleware, and system-to-system interfaces.
Experience supporting multiple business-critical applications within an operational environment.
Familiarity with utility, infrastructure, energy, or public sector organizations.
