z/OS Product Installation & Maintenance — Hands-on experience installing and maintaining IBM and ISV products using SMP/E (RECEIVE, APPLY, ACCEPT) and non-SMP/E methods, including PTF/APAR management, CSI management, and zone maintenance across development and production LPARs.
System Dataset Management — Proven ability to manage and update critical system control datasets including LNKLST (LINKLIST), APF-authorized library lists, and IEASYSxx/IEAPARMxx parmlib members, with a clear understanding of dynamic versus IPL-time activation.
z/OS Migration & Upgrade Execution — Practical experience executing z/OS release-to-release migrations using SMP/E-driven CBPDO/ServerPac workflows or zOSMF Software Management, including pre/post-migration checks, coexistence PTFs, and fallback planning.
zOSMF Workflows & Software Deployment — Working knowledge of IBM z/OSMF for software instance management, deployment workflows, and health checks, enabling streamlined product deployments and system configuration changes with audit trail support.
System Integrity & Change Control Discipline — Demonstrated ability to implement system-level changes in compliance with change management processes — including impact analysis of LINKLIST/APF additions, parmlib cascading effects, and regression testing post-installation in a multi-LPAR sysplex environment.
