  • Set up live migration parameters, storage paths, and network configurations.
  • Perform complex migrations: Handle critical workloads, clustered environments, and cross-domain migrations.
  • Escalation point: Act as the final escalation tier for unresolved issues from Level 1 and Level 2 teams.
  • Maintain migration runbooks: Document procedures, fallback plans, and post-migration validation steps.
  • Ensure compliance: Validate that migration adheres to security, data protection, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders: Work with Client stake holders, project managers, application owners, and infrastructure teams.
  • Mentor junior staff: Guide Level 1 and Level 2 & Level 3 engineers on best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Strong ESXi VMware skilled resource handled critical migrations:
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi: Experience with VMware helps understand VM lifecycle, resource allocation, and migration concepts.
  • KVM or Xen: Familiarity with other hypervisors builds transferable skills in virtual machine management.
  • Migrate tools knowledge : Especially useful for Hyper-V to Azure or relevant OS transitions. Knowing how to assess, replicate, and migrate workloads is critical
VMWARE Expertise Detail:
  • Installing and configuring new ESXi in blade serves
  • Upgrade vCenter Server Appliance from 6.5 to 6.7, 6.7 to 7 and 7 to 8
  • Windows servers patching
  • Upgrade ESXi from 6.5 to 6.7 and 6.7 to 7 and 7 to 8
  • Configure and Manage HA, DRS, Resource Pools clusters
  • Perform patching of vCenter and ESXi using Lifecycle manager
  • Perform Physical server firmware update
  • Daily Health checks and Performance of the VMware infrastructures
  • Configuring Alarms for the Hosts and VMs
  • Migrate Physical Server to Virtual Server using VMware Convertor (P2V Convention)
  • Creation of new LUN from storage as per requirement
  • Expand Datastore and increase VM hard disks
  • Monitor and manage datastore health check
  • Restore VMs from snapshot/Veeam Backup based on requirement
  • Deploy windows server (VM and Physical) as per standard Template and ISO image
  • Migration of Windows Server 2016 to 2019 to 2022
  • Monitor Physical servers alert for ESXi and Windows hosted blade servers
  • Coordinate with vendor for hardware related issues
  • Review VMWare vulnerability reports and take appropriate actions
  • Basic troubleshooting in RHEL servers
  • Follow end-to-end decommission process for unused Windows Server (Physical and VM
  • Creating, managing, and optimizing VMs for performance and resource allocation in Hyper -V
  • Navigating and utilizing Hyper-V Manager for VM lifecycle operations
  • Automating tasks, managing VMs, and troubleshooting using scripts
  • Configuring virtual switches, VLANs, and ensuring secure connectivity
  • Configuring failover clustering and live migration for uptime and resilience
  • Applying security baselines, patching, and role-based access controls.
