Title: Senior UX Researcher and Designer

Position Type: Contract Location: Brooklyn, NY Work

Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end user research for high-priority public service initiatives.

Develop research plans, hypotheses, and user requirements using mixed-method research approaches.

Conduct generative and evaluative research, including interviews, field studies, usability testing, and A/B testing. Collaborate with Product Managers, Digital Strategists, Designers, Analytics teams, and stakeholders.

Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to drive evidence-based decision-making.

Present research findings and actionable recommendations to internal teams and stakeholders.

Enhance and mature UX research methodologies and internal research toolkits.

Create wireframes and user journeys based on research insights and business requirements.

Advocate for user-centered design practices and accessibility standards across teams.

Required Qualifications: 8+ years of UX Research and User Experience Design experience.

Proven expertise in generative and evaluative research methodologies.

Strong experience with usability testing, A/B testing, interviews, and field studies.

Ability to translate research hypotheses into actionable research plans. Experience recruiting and engaging diverse user populations.

Strong understanding of research methodology, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.

Experience creating wireframes, user flows, and user journey maps. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Evaluation Practice (TEI) or equivalent research methodology training. 10+ years of experience analyzing complex qualitative and quantitative data. Knowledge of statistical principles and data-driven decision-making. Experience working in cross-functional teams consisting of Product, Engineering, Data, and Design professionals. Experience facilitating workshops and group synthesis sessions. Strong commitment to accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equitable user research practices.
