Technical Product Engineers should possess in-depth technical knowledge of the product(s) they support. They remain engaged with the Manager, Product Owner, Tech Lead, Architect, and Development Squad to maintain alignment with product goals, roadmap, and vision for both business and IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical analysis of products and product enhancements, understanding the overall impact on downstream and upstream systems for a product or set of products.
• Support the Product Owner with Product Backlog management.
• Maintain an up-to-date status of work for the team, reflected in Agility.
• Be an active member of the team, understanding the roles and responsibilities of the squad.
• Create and maintain technical and functional requirements, workflows, and processes for the product(s).
• Serve in the capacities of:
o Technical Product Engineer (TPE)
o Business Analyst
o Scrum Master
• Coordinate squad communications and activities.
Job Summary:
• Coordinate with the Scrum Master, Delivery Team, and Product Managers in various planning events, including Sprint Planning, Program Increment (PI) Planning, and related activities.
• Initiate and translate the product roadmap into a manageable product backlog in collaboration with Product Managers and key business stakeholders.
• Own and prioritize the Team Backlog.
• Define and accept User Stories.
• Ensure the Product Management team has insight into and understanding of the product to support effective prioritization of Backlog Items.
• Liaise with Product Managers to understand features and changes in product requirements and support release planning and sprint planning activities.
• Maintain a full understanding of Epic, Feature, and Story breakdowns and their alignment to the backlog.
• Establish partnerships and working alignment with the Delivery Team and Product Management Team to enable value-driven delivery.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the product(s) and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the team and external partners.
• Mentor junior Product Owners, cultivating their skillsets, Agile mindset, and ability to drive value delivery.
• Champion and drive delivery through the Five Levels of Agile Planning: Vision, Roadmap, Release Plan, Sprint Plan, and Day Plan.
• Maintain an understanding of Delta IT technologies and applications, with the ability to support Technical Product Owners through direction and alignment.
Qualifications:
Data Background
• 3+ years of experience in relational and non-relational data research/mining, data transformations, and/or data streaming required.
Agile
• Proven experience collaborating with medium-sized Agile teams (e.g., teams of 5+ members). 3+ years in an Agile environment required.
• Proven experience writing both business and technical user stories. 2+ years in a Product Owner role preferred.
• Agile certifications preferred, including but not limited to CSPO, A-CSPO, CBAP, and PO/PM.
Software Development
• 2+ years of experience in a software development environment or working with delivery teams.
General
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sense of curiosity with a natural ability to think upstream and downstream.
• Airline industry experience preferred.
• Ability to resolve team conflict.
