SAP Retail Master Data Consultant (SAP MM & Integration)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Retail Master Data Consultant to support a
strategic SAP initiative for a leading retail organization. The consultant will play a key
role in configuring and optimizing SAP Retail Master Data and SAP MM processes,
ensuring alignment with business requirements while leveraging standard SAP
capabilities wherever possible.
The ideal candidate will possess strong functional expertise in SAP Retail and Materials
Management, hands-on configuration experience, and the ability to collaborate
effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead workshops and discussions with business stakeholders to gather, analyze,
and document requirements related to SAP Retail Master Data processes.
• Configure SAP MM and Retail Master Data components in alignment with
business needs and SAP best practices.
• Evaluate business requirements and recommend standard SAP solutions
before considering custom enhancements.
• Support creation, maintenance, and governance of Retail Master Data including:
o Material Master
o Vendor Master
o Site/Store Master
o Assortments and Listing processes
• Work with technical teams on integration requirements involving SAP IDocs and
related interfaces.
• Analyze and troubleshoot master data and MM-related process issues.
• Prepare functional specifications and support testing activities including SIT and
UAT.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across
supply chain and retail operations.
• Provide knowledge transfer and documentation as required.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on SAP Retail Master Data and
SAP MM.
• Hands-on SAP MM configuration experience.
• Strong understanding of:
o Material Master Management
o Vendor Master Processes
o Procurement and Inventory Management
o Retail-specific master data concepts
• Experience working with SAP IDocs and interface integrations.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into SAP solutions.
• Strong preference for candidates experienced in delivering solutions using
standard SAP functionality before custom development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while engaging effectively with business and IT
stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA Retail environments.
• Exposure to Master Data Governance (MDG) processes.
• Experience working in retail, consumer products, or distribution industries.
• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies and middleware platforms.
Additional Information
• Immediate requirement with an initial engagement of 4 months.
• High likelihood of extension based on project needs and performance.
• Candidates must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the
U.S.
• Strong stakeholder-facing and communication skills are critical for success in
this role.
