Job Title: Data Engineer
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Fontana, CA (Hybrid – Local candidates only)
Role Overview
This role supports the organization’s expanding cloud data platform and enterprise analytics roadmap within Databricks. You will work closely with business teams and engineering partners to build scalable data solutions, pipelines, and integrations across multiple operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable data solutions in Databricks
Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and PySpark
Work with Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer architecture
Optimize Spark workloads for performance and scalability
Develop ingestion pipelines from APIs and external systems
Handle structured and semi-structured data (JSON, CSV, API data)
Support AWS-based cloud environments and integrations
Build SQL queries, Python scripts, and Databricks notebooks for analytics and automation
Required Skills
12+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles
Strong experience with SQL and Python
Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Spark
Experience working with AWS and Azure cloud environments
Knowledge of modern ETL/ELT processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the logistics/transportation domain
Exposure to tools like Revenova or Samsara
Understanding of APIs, JSON data structures, and operational analytics
Experience with hybrid cloud (AWS + Azure) environments
Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and IAM
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
