About the Role:
This role supports DOE’s Session Time Applications Modernization Initiative, focused on replacing legacy scheduling and compliance systems with a modern, scalable platform. You’ll work on enterprise-level .NET application development, integrations, compliance workflows, and modernization efforts.
Scope of the Project:
The focus is on building a centralized platform for calendar management, session scheduling, compliance validation, reporting, and workflow automation, while integrating with existing DOE enterprise systems.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications in a Microsoft .NET environment
- Build and support APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations
- Participate in all phases of SDLC (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, support)
- Develop scalable workflows, compliance validations, and automation features
- Support data migration and integration with existing DOE systems
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance
- Implement security, monitoring, and operational best practices
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across departments
Required Skills (Ranked):
- 8+ years experience in .NET development
- Strong expertise with .NET Core, ASP.NET, SQL Server
- Experience with REST APIs and Microservices architecture
- Strong frontend experience with JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, React JS
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and cloud-based deployments
- Experience with Salesforce CRM integrations
- Strong experience across the full SDLC lifecycle
Preferred Skills:
- Microsoft / Azure certifications
- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise systems
- Experience with large-scale government or education systems
- Experience with workflow automation and compliance platforms
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

This is not a basic .NET maintenance role you’re expected to work on enterprise modernization, scalable architecture, and complex integrations. If someone only has CRUD application experience, they won’t keep up here.
