Hours: 5–10 hours per week

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Databricks Architect based in the Minnesota area to provide advisory and architectural support for an ongoing Databricks data platform initiative. This role will focus on technical guidance, architecture validation, and best-practice recommendations rather than full-time development.

Key Responsibilities
Provide architectural guidance for Databricks Lakehouse implementations.
Review existing data platform design and recommend improvements.
Advise data engineering teams on best practices and optimization strategies.
Support solution architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
Assist with performance tuning, scalability, and governance approaches.
Participate in periodic technical reviews and stakeholder meetings.

Required Skills
Strong experience with Databricks architecture and implementation
Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks / Data Engineering ecosystems
Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture, ETL pipelines, and data modeling
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Strong communication and advisory/consulting experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise data modernization projects
Background in data governance and performance optimization
Prior advisory or part-time consulting engagement experience

Engagement Model
Part-time advisory role (5–10 hours weekly)
Flexible schedule
Local Minnesota presence required for collaboration alignment
