Job Requirements:The Quality Engineer Mainframe ensures the quality of batch and online CICS mainframe applications by designing executing and automating robust tests across COBOL JCL DB2 and VSAM components The role involves preparing test scenarios and data executing test cases validating databases and files and logging defects The engineer analyzes abends from JES spool debugs using mainframe tools and reviews COBOLDB2 code when needed Collaboration with developers and leads is key to assess risks report daily progress and deliver on time with handson use of tools such as FileAidFile Manager SPUFI and EndevorRequired QualificationsHandson mainframe testing experience across CICS COBOL JCL DB2 VSAMProficiency with tools FileAidFile Manager Xpediter Endevor SPUFIAbility to customize and run JCLs for the test environment using production JCLsDB2 database testing and SQL querying skillsExperience analyzing abends from JES spool and using debugging toolsAbility to analyze COBOL and DB2 code as neededStrong experience with HP Quality Center ALM and Jira for test management and defect trackingKnowledge of testing methodologies techniques phases and best practices
