Apigee Platform Engineer – Edge Support & Hybrid Modernization

We are seeking a hands-on Apigee Platform Engineer to support the existing Apigee Edge platform and lead the modernization of APIs to Apigee Hybrid.

The role involves API proxy development, platform operations, Kubernetes deployment, and CI/CD automation to enable a modern, scalable API platform.

Key Responsibilities

Provide BAU support for Apigee Edge APIs, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and proxy maintenance.
Participate in migration and modernization of APIs from Apigee Edge to Apigee Hybrid.
Develop and maintain API proxies, shared flows, and policies.
Implement API security policies (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, API keys).
Deploy and manage Apigee Hybrid runtime on Kubernetes (AKS).
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for API deployment using tools such as Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions.
Work with backend teams to integrate APIs with Java / microservices / legacy systems.
Monitor APIs using Apigee analytics and enterprise monitoring tools.

Required Skills

Strong experience with Apigee Edge development and operations.
Experience with Apigee Hybrid architecture and deployments.
Hands-on experience with REST API development and API gateway policies.
Programming experience in Java / Spring Boot / Microservices.
Experience with Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and containerization (Docker, Helm).
Strong understanding of API security (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS).
Experience with API monitoring and troubleshooting.
