Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tableau Administrator to lead the administration, performance optimization, and governance of the Tableau platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Tableau Server environments, ensuring system stability, implementing security controls, and supporting enterprise-scale analytics solutions. This role requires strong expertise in Tableau infrastructure, performance tuning, and collaboration with BI developers and data engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server and Tableau Online environments.
- Manage Tableau Server architecture, including high availability and scalability.
- Administer user roles, permissions, authentication (Active Directory, SAML, LDAP, SSO).
- Monitor and optimize Tableau Server performance, background jobs, and extract refresh schedules.
- Manage Tableau site administration, projects, and data sources.
- Implement data governance, security policies, and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot server issues, dashboard performance problems, and connectivity errors.
- Manage Tableau backups, disaster recovery, and server migrations.
- Work closely with BI developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Automate administrative tasks using Tableau REST API, TabCmd, or scripting tools.
- Monitor system health using server logs, monitoring tools, and usage analytics.
- Provide guidance and support to Tableau developers and analysts.
- Document best practices, processes, and system configurations.
