Job Details:        

Technical Skills
• Deep expertise in ScienceLogic (SL1) platform architecture, administration, On prem set up and configuration
• Strong understanding of monitoring protocols: SNMP, WMI, SSH, PowerShell, API, JDBC
• Proficiency in network, server (Windows, Linux, AIX), database (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), and application monitoring
• Experience with ServiceNow integration, event management, and CMDB synchronization
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Shell) for automation and custom monitoring
• Understanding of IT infrastructure including virtualization (VMware, vCenter), storage, and cloud platforms
Professional Skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across teams
• Project management capabilities for monitoring implementation initiatives
• Collaborative approach with ability to mentor and guide team members
Experience Requirements
• 5+ years of experience with ScienceLogic platform administration and monitoring solutions
• Proven track record of large-scale monitoring implementations and migrations
• Experience with ITSM tools, particularly ServiceNow
• Background in enterprise IT infrastructure and operations
• Certification in ScienceLogic or related monitoring technologies (preferred)

Work Environment

• Participation in planning sessions, UAT meetings, and technical reviews
• Occasional off-hours support for platform upgrades and critical issues

Platform Expertise & Administration
• Serve as the primary technical resource for ScienceLogic platform architecture, configuration, and best practices
• Design, implement, and optimize monitoring solutions across diverse technology stacks including servers, databases, network devices, applications, and cloud infrastructure
• Manage platform upgrades, patches, and enhancements while ensuring minimal disruption to monitoring services
• Configure and maintain collectors, dynamic applications, power packs, and custom monitoring solutions
Technical Leadership & Strategy
• Provide strategic direction for monitoring and observability roadmap aligned with business objectives
• Lead technical design sessions and architecture reviews for monitoring implementations
• Evaluate and recommend platform enhancements, integrations, and scalability improvements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize monitoring coverage, alert accuracy, and incident response
Stakeholder Collaboration & Support
• Partner with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application, database, network, and security teams
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions and coordinate go-live activities for monitoring waves
• Provide expert guidance on alert policies, event correlation, threshold tuning, and incident management workflows
• Facilitate training sessions and create documentation for end users and technical teams
Integration & Automation
• Design and implement integrations with ServiceNow, CMDB, and other enterprise tools
• Develop automation workflows for device onboarding, maintenance mode management, and alert enrichment
• Configure SNMP traps, API integrations, and custom data collection methods
• Optimize ServiceNow event management and incident creation processes
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
• Investigate and resolve complex platform issues including collection failures, performance bottlenecks, and integration problems
• Coordinate with ScienceLogic vendor support and engineering teams for escalated issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for monitoring gaps or failures
• Monitor platform health, performance metrics, and capacity planning
