Architecture Skills Required:
- Executes architecture practices and processes by properly creating and maintaining architecture domain documentation, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and suggesting enhancements.
- Experience in technology application development and/or infrastructure and operational implementation.
- Deep knowledge in a minimum of one technology domain (from an application, infrastructure, operations, scalability, availability, performance, people, process, and tooling perspective).
- Understanding and application of technical architecture standards, principles, and policies and knowledge of applicable regulations and risk management practices.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for onboarding new vendors.
- Guide vendors through USAA’s architectural processes, standards, and governance requirements.
- Partner with Technical Architects to review vendor solution designs, integration patterns, and technical capabilities..
- Document design assessments, onboarding guidance, technical risks, and decisions.
- Support architectural reviews, checkpoints, and compliance activities related to vendor onboarding.
- Communicate expectations with clarity and professionalism to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience:
- Overall 12+ experience in IT software development
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, technical analysis, or solution design.
- Foundational understanding of architecture principles, including APIs, integration patterns, cloud basics, and security controls.
- Experience partnering with technical architects, third party vendors, system integrators, or managed service providers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding efforts in a structured, process-driven environment.
